Then we drive through The Roseau Valley, home to the island's largest banana plantation. Originally the valley had been used for the cultivation of sugar cane. More recently, it is a major production area for bananas.

There is also a distillery at Roseau and it has produced several prize-winning rums like chairman’s reserve and Admiral Rodney.

Admiral Rodney Extra Old Rum which is produced by St. Lucia Distillers Group of Companies won the Gold Medal and Trophy at the 2012 International Wine & Spirits Competition which was held in the United Kingdom in May 2012.

We can make a stop at the refinery for Rum sampling or take a drive up a few kilometers to the scenic MARIGOT BAY; there you can sample some homemade SPICE RUM

Marigot Bay is located on the western coast of the island, 3.75 miles southwest from Castries.  It is surrounded on three sides by steep, lush vegetated hills.

The inland portion of the bay forms a hurricane hole, used to shelter boats from hurricanes.

Marigot Bay is a historic landmark, having been the site of a number of battles between the French and British navies.
